Kolkata was
initially known as Calcutta. Kolkata is said to be a CITY OF JOY, but the
perfectly this city can be sentenced as HEART OF BENGAL. It is the first metro
Politian city of the country and is the only place where tram of British period
still enshrines. Kolkata has the smell historic freedom of INDIA, it has blessings
of goddess KALI, HOOGLY river flows with a smoothness giving a magical dusk
time, artificial fun castles, malls and market place makes this city alive.
Kolkata’s rich heritage never fails to attract tourists and local people, the
culture of this place is evergreen that cannot be replaced. KOLKATA is not just
a city, it is an emotion. This place lives in the heart of people.
This place is
connected to main three districts of Bengal and every part of Kolkata is
special as every street has a story, each building speaks history, each
monument writes about its heritage and culture. Some places of Kolkata are –

PRINCEP GHAT – it is one the
major tourist attraction because the ghat is near VIDYA SAGAR SETU which is a
bridge. VIDYA SAGAR SETU is also known as the SECOND HOOGLY BRIDGE. Though the
design is totally different but the engineering done is same. PRINCEP ghat is
built on the memory of a british scholar JAMES PRINCEP. The perfect time to
visit the ghat is dusk time. The cold wind of river HOOGLY charms the place.
The lights of bridge add stars to the place. The hypnotizing ambience attract
tourists. It is one of the best hangout place with no negativity in and around.
PRINCEP GHAT is in the main Kolkata city. One can travel with public vehicles
and cabs.

DAKHINESHWAR TEMPLE – KOLKATA
is blessed with goddess KALI. Travelers can enjoy DAKHINESHWAR trip by taking
lounge from BELUR MATH situated in west river bank, HOOGLY district. BELUR MATH
is also a religious place of RAMAKRISHNA PARAMHANS, founded by SWAMI VIVEKANANDA. The temple has a very
silence, meditative and relaxing ambience. It costs 10rs in lounge from BELUR
MATH lounge station to reach DAKHINESHWAR TEMPLE. The temple has a mythological
history and the idol is said to be very pure for granting wishes. DAKHINESHWAR
TEMPLE has a big marble platform for walking. They have museums, library,
gallery in the premises. Outerside of temple has a big walking platform,
arrangements to sit and rest, library, a HOOGLY river ghat near BALI BRIDGE. Tourists
can visit ADYAPITH TEMPLE which is also RAMKRISHNA KALI mandir. It is in the
main city so one can book e-rikshaw and plan for this religious place.

M.P. BIRLA PLANETARIUM – The
name itself speaks that the place is connected to celestial bodies, galaxy,
stars, planets. People who are interested in astronomy, science and arts as
well can enjoy this place. Also known as TARAMANDAL, Birla planetarium’s
location is: 96, Jawaharlal Nehru Road, Chowringhee Road, Adjacent to St.
Paul’s Cathedral, Kolkata, West Bengal. It is largest planetarium in INDIA and
second largest planetarium in ASIA till date. BIRLA PLANETARUIM has electronics
laboratory for designing equipment required for practical research, it has
gallery with famous paintings and models of renowned astronomers. Planetarium
has well designed telescope with powerful professional lenses, more observatory
equipment which offers public and students to complete their researches,
complete their projects and many more.

SCIENCE CITY – Science city is
very interesting place for public because whatever you see inside it, all have
some science in it. They have rides, ropeways, parks, galleries, geography
center, science exploration hall. Galleries include illusions, aquarium, live
butterfly enclaves, science on a sphere, earth exploration hall where there is
a 3D ride, 3Dvision, mirror magic, Time Machine, Maritime center. Science city
is located at the crossing of EASTERN METROPOLITAN BYPASS and J.B.S. HALDANE
AVENUE, KOLKATA. The entry fee is 50rs/person.

NICCO PARK – it is famous for
ultimate fun rides and water theme park (WETO WILD). NICCO PARK has rides which
will surely cheer your mood, costs do not hamper the fun. Nicco park also gives
refreshment and meal facility so that hunger don’t come between you and your
good time. It is an amusement park which also has water theme park inside it.
WETO WILD has water rides, artificial sea shore, rain dance and much more. It is
assured that public will get tired of exploring this fun fiesta but the place
continues to give surprises and fun. It is located in Salt Lake city, sector
IV, JHEEL MEEL, KOLKATA.

FUNWORLD of KOLKATA - I took
this subject to write under trip to Kolkata because Kolkata has much more than
you read about it. Even roads of KOLKATA have story of history and mythology.
The latest KOLKATA very much focuses on artificial fun worlds other than NICCO
PARK and SCIENCE CITY. They are AQUATICA (a water theme amusement park),
ECOPARK (nature’s park), WAX MUSEUM and SNOW CITY (artificial snow theme area
with rides).
